ANYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ENVIRO CRIME SOLUTIONS

ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

WHAT IS IT THAT ECS AIMS TO ACHIEVE

Enviro Crime Solutions is at the forefront of the fight against poaching. Our expertise lies in the conducting forensic investigations in specifically rhino poaching scenes, but we also deal with Pangolin, Abalone and other endangered animals and species. (Even trees and plants).

When referring to our overall aim it is ALWAYS the protection of vulnerable species and animals that are threatened by poaching or by any criminal activity whether that is by individuals or criminal syndicates.

WHAT ARE THE PROGRAMS THAT WE SUPPORT & RUN??

Our work in fighting poaching is not simply limited to forensic investigations. The entire process attempts to focus on pre-emptive work and by ensuring we put in the ground work that poaching is prevented before it starts.

By implementing projects that enhance the lives of communities around the park we can ensure that a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the critical role it plays in our future is created. Because of this we have targeted efforts that ensure maximum benefit to not only animals but the people who share the spaces around the parks with them.

WHAT ARE OUR PRINCIPLES REGARDING FUNDS & DONATIONS

When it comes to funding and the use of donated funds we have a few simple principles that we always make sure of:

  • If it was my funds that were donated how would I like it spent.
  • Is this expense REALLY needed?
  • Is what I am spending deriving maximum benefit for our goals?
  • Can I honestly face a donor and prove that I used his / her money for good?

By following these basic principles at all times we believe that we will spend money from donations in a way that is consistent with our ethos of transparency honesty and openness.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF ECS?

At Enviro Crime Solutions we do everything for the love of nature and specifically animals. Our complete overriding motivation is a deep-seated heartfelt love of any living creature. We have had the incredible privilege of having our lives changed by the animals we saved and we consider ourselves blessed and incredible lucky to be involved in the capacity that we are.

As a group we consider the following to be guiding principles in what we do:

  • Our priority will always be the animals we strive to protect
  • All people regardless of race, social standing or upbringing deserves to be treated with dignity.
  • We do not bend to, promote any or support any political party. In our experience politics, people and nature is not a good combination and we remain resolute not to be involved in any political affiliation.
  • We adhere to principles of good citizenship and strive to do our best to help anyone we may find in need.
  • We fervently believe and try our best to live honestly and conduct our business in a transparent manner that we hope is an example and inspiration to everyone we meet.
  • We believe that the world needs to know what is happening to our animals and as such we go to great lengths to promote their plight and ensure that as many people as possible experience what we have the privilege to be involved in.

WHAT ELSE CAN I DONATE TO HELP?

Here at Enviro Crime Solutions we are glad to accept help from anyone that has a passion for animals and is sincere in their want to help. We appreciate that many people cannot donate financially and so we welcome any other kind of donations.

IS OUR JOB DANGEROUS

Yes our work is dangerous. Of course the biggest threat is that of armed poachers and criminals. Several of our team members have received death threats and have been intimidated and some of the people we work with have lost their lives to these criminals. Apart from the criminal element we also spend a lot of our time in the African bushveld and we constantly come across dangerous animals such as lion elephant and buffalo among other.

Although our work is dangerous we take great care to be vigilant at all times and we are highly qualified to do what we do. We have several game ranging and guiding qualifications and a whole host of weapons and defence tactics qualifications that equip us to be our best.

DO YOU HAVE SPECIALIZED SKILLS IN ECS?

Yes we do. We have a whole host of specialized skills. Our founder Andre Robberts is one of the worlds most experienced poaching crime scene forensic investigators with more than 400 crime scenes processed.

Andre has completed the RhODIS rhino DNA sampling and analysis course at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Sciences Faculty of the University of Pretoria. Andre was appointed as an EMI in 2019.

Apart from these we also have a host of other skills such as negotiating and communications skills required for working in a high stress environment.

HAVE YOU WON ANY AWARDS FOR YOUR WORK?

Because what we do is our passion, we excel at it. Because of this love that we have for our work we have won numerous awards.

By far our proudest achievement is the KUDU award that we won in 2019 for the Conservationist of the year. It was a remarkable acknowledgement of years of dedication and hard work that makes us extremely proud.

The KUDU awards is considered the "Oscars of conservation" and is given to those that make a significant and substantial contribution to conservation.

The inscriptions on the award says "in recognition of your enormous support to anti-poaching efforts in the Kruger National Park".

Although this is our proudest achievement we have received a host of community awards and recognition for the work we do in communities and the like of which we are also very proud.
